A DOCUMENTARY FILM
by Corin Wiggins & Abril
by Corin Wiggins & Abril
Abril C.A, a student majoring in Physical Theater and minoring in Film, and Corin Wiggins, also a student majoring in Physical Theater, participated in an internship at Art Pot. Maribel Acosta, the organization’s director, was the mentor of this project, which involved a process of research, interviews, field work, and the production of a documentary film. The main objective was to delve into the reality of the Latino community and its challenges and achievements as immigrants, and to present the results from the perspective of the youth. One of the two college students is of Latino origin and the other knows very little information about this community; therefore, it was a challenge for them both. They have chosen to center their narrative on the stories of first and / or second generation Latino immigrant youth in the tri-county area.
We hope to disseminate this documentary film among different organizations and social media to raise awareness about the immigrant community, specifically the Latino community, through some experiences and lived stories and a careful artistic and professional execution, which we are sure will leave a mark on the viewer.
This documentary will leave a mark on the viewer through the voice of the Tri-County Latino community, its challenges and achievements as immigrants, and the perspective of the first and / or second generation Latino immigrant youth.
We are counting on your help to spread the word about this film and invite others to observe and talk about the diversity and value of the Latino community.
